Jim Leslie of Madisonville, passed away 3:23 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 at Parkwest Medical Center. Jim was a lifelong member and deacon/elder at New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He retired in 2006 after 42 years at Monroe (Foothills) Farmers' Co-op in Madisonville. He was active in the Monroe agriculture community all his life and especially enjoyed working with his Hereford cattle and spending time with his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: father, Pryor B. Leslie; brothers, David and Donnie; and sister, Brenda Grace Leslie.
Survivors include: his wife of 42 years, Zelma H. Leslie;
Daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Billy E. Raper, Jr.;
Grandchildren, Kristin, Bryce and Katie;
Mother, Juretta Mae Mangis Leslie;
Brothers, Gene (Faye), Bob (Gloria), Roy "Slick" (Donna), all of Madisonville, Ross (Pam), Kenneth (Sandy) of Maryville;
Sister, Judy (Ed) Layman of Sevierville;
Sister-in-law, Brenda Leslie of Madisonville;
A host of nieces and nephews;
Doug Carter was a great friend.
Funeral 8 p.m. Wednesday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, with Rev. David Koopman officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Thursday, Haven Hill Memorial Gardens. If friends like, memorials may be made to the cemetery fund at New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Receiving friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
