Irene Wattenbarger Thompson
(July 10, 2013)
Irene Wattenbarger Thompson, age 86, of Sweetwater, passed away on
Wednesday, July 10, at U.T. Medical Center, Knoxville. A lady of true
integrity, she set an example for her family by the way she lived. She lovingly
sacrificed herself for others throughout all phases of her life, gracefully
enduring its many trials and hardships. With a kind and gentle spirit, she
earned the respect of those who came to know her. As a lifelong member of
Beulah Chapel Church of the Nazarene, she faithfully served in several
capacities over the years, enjoyed singing in the choir and participating in
activities with her church family. She served the public for more than 20 years
through her employment with Little Drugs where she made many friends and
acquaintances throughout the community. While her passing has created a great
void in the hearts and lives of those who knew and loved her, we are reminded
of how much God blessed us by being counted as one who was loved by her.
She was 86.
