Owen Glennie Barnes

Owen Glennie Barnes of Joelton, passed away Sunday, March 24.
He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army 33rd Calvary Division during World
War II, a member of Turtletown Missionary Baptist Church and also a 32nd degree
Mason; a member of Vonore Masonic Lodge #658 for 65 years and a member of Grand
Lodge and Scottish Rite of Nashville.
He was 95.
Preceded in death by: wife, Dorothy Brakebill Barnes;
brothers, Ward, Quinton and Miller Barnes; and sister, Vellia Fields.
Survivors include: daughter-Becky Barnes Woodard and husband,
Granddaughter-Jennifer Woodard Sharp and husband, James;
Great-grandchildren-Colton and Christian Sharp;
Sisters-Mickie Venable and Ruby Barnes;
Nieces-Brenda Freels and husband, Gene; JoAnn McClain and
husband, Rick; Desiree Venable, Denise Watlington and Aleta Eskridge;
Nephews-Louis Venable and Kenneth Boatwright.
Graveside service and interment will be 10 a.m. Tuesday,
April 2 at New Hope
Cemetery, with Rev. Chad Schaffer officiating. Family will
receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home,
