Barbara Jean Kennedy Bivens

Barbara Jean Kennedy Bivens of Tellico Plains, passed away
at 4:27 a.m., Friday, March 22, at her home. She was a member of Friends of
Meeting of Ball Play Church. She was a wonderful wife of nearly 60 years. She
was a loving mother and grandmother who fought a good fight for many years and
has finally won and gone home to be with our Lord.
She was 78.
Preceded in death by: parents, Noman Sr. and Flora Smith
Survivors include: husband-Edward E. (Gene) Bivens;
Daughters and sons-in-law-Gena and Danny Crowder of
Madisonville; and Veta and Jeff Robbins of Tellico Plains;
Son and daughter-in-law-Darrell and Lisa Bivens of Tellico
Grandchildren and spouses-Melanie and Jesse Lindsey, Lacey
Crowder, Chad and Kelly Robbins, Jill and Nathan Wooten, Jenny Bivens and Joe
Great-grandchildren-Chance, Landon, Addyson, Emmy and Rollan
Lindsey and Samantha and Clay Robbins;
Brothers and sisters-in-law-Morris and Floda Kennedy of
Madisonville; and Noman Jr. and Nancy Kennedy of Sweetwater;
Several nieces and nephews.
God sent us an angel and wonderful caregiver, Tammy Suttles
of Tellico Plains.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m., Sunday, in Biereley-Hale
Chapel with the Rev. Scott Knight and Chaplain Mike Justice officiating. Interment
will be 2 p.m., Monday, in Oak Grove Friends Cemetery. Family will receive
friends from 5-8 p.m., Sunday, before the service. Biereley-Hale Funeral Home,
Madisonville, in charge of arrangements.
