Floyd Beechard Summey of the Citico
Community, Vonore, passed
away suddenly Sunday evening, Feb. 24, at his
home. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962. He worked as a superintendent for many
construction companies through the years and retired in 2004 from J.A. Street & Associates. He
was a lifelong, avid foxhunter and had many special hunting friends. He was a member of Howard's
Chapel Missionary Baptist Church but attended Lakeside Missionary Baptist Church.
He was 75.
Preceded in death by: parents, Doak and
Grace Dotson Summey; sister, Gradie Duncan: brothers, Cecil Summey; Doak Summey Jr. (June) and John
and Elmer Summey and Winifred Summey (Pat); father-in-law and mother-in-law, Davie and Louie
Hitson Tilson.
Survivors include: loving wife of 48 years-Mary Ann
Tilson Summey;
Daughter and son-in-law-Becki and Doug Patton;
Son and daughter-in-law-Mike and Amy Summey of Madisonville;
Cherished grandchildren-Hope West and husband Josh, of Coker Creek; Chloe Summey,
Seth Patton and fiancee' Elizabeth Phillips, Chase and Dawson Summey, all of Madisonville;
Cherished great-grandson-Levi West of Coker Creek;
Loving sister-Gertie Tallent of Vonore;
Several nieces
and nephews.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday, in Biereley-Hale
Chapel, with Rev. Ralph Patton, Rev. Larry Walker and Rev. Carl Croft officiating. Interment will
be 2 p.m. Wednesday, in Big Toqua Cemetery with full military honors. Family will receive friends
from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
