Charley McClain Moore Sr.

Charley McClain Moore Sr., of Niota, passed away Monday, Feb
18, at Sweetwater Hospital. A native of Sweetwater and longtime resident of
Niota, he was a son of the late Clifford and Georgia Mae Strickland Moore. He
was an avid carpenter and heavy equipment foreman retired from TVA. He was a
member of the Sweetwater Masonic Lodge #292 Free and Accepted Masons and was a
member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church.
He was 84.
Preceded in death by: two sons, Alfred Bryson Moore and Leon
Eugene Moore; an infant sister, Violet Lee Moore and sister, Betty Annis
Carver; two brothers, Clifford Moore and Hershel Moore.
Survivors include: his wife of 67 years-Doris Ellen Nunley
Moore of Niota;
Daughter-Nadine Moore of Niota;
Two sons and two daughters-in-law-Charlie Moore Jr. and
wife, Phyllis of Niota; Ronald Moore and fiancée, Bobbie Thomas of Niota; and
Sheryll McKenery of Okeechobee, Fla.;
Seventeen grandchildren;
Twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and ten
great-great-grandchildren
One brother and sister-in-law-Jimmy Ray Moore and his wife,
Linda of Niota;
Two sisters-Barbara Heinman of Sweetwater; and Mary Jones
Clayton of Spring City; and
Several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday with a
Masonic service at 7 p.m.with a funeral service following in the chapel of
Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Dawson and Rev. Stacey Dockery
officiating. Burial will be 11
a.m., Thursday in Westview Cemetery in Sweetwater. Pallbearers will be Anthony
Terragrossa, Lee Gibson, Greg Shepherd, Tim Tarver, Andrew Wege and Kyle
Stricker. Ziegler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Charley
Moore.
