J.D. Gentry “Honey Bun” of Sweetwater, passed away at 4:29 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 14, at home. He retired from Vestal Manufacturing after 37 years of service.

He was 75.

Preceded in death by: wife, Lovella Johnson Gentry; parents, Atlas Boone and Earlie Gentry; brothers, A.B. Gentry and Cecil Gentry, twin siblings, Billie and Bobby Gentry.

Survivors: daughters and son-in-law, Brenda Gail Best and Linda Gentry

Reynolds and Virgil Reynolds;

Son-James Gentry of Sweetwater;

Grandchildren-Danny Eugene Best and Mindy Best, Lisa Gail Best and

Tony Lynn Reynolds;

Great- grandchildren-Savannah Nicole Best, Haylee Coburn, Kaden McKeown and Chloe Lovella Best;

Sisters-Laura Johnson of Sweetwater; Sadie Shepherd of Madisonville; Linda Miller and husband, Wayne of Tellico Plains;

Brothers, Charles Wayne Gentry and wife Kathy of Cleveland; Donnie Ray Gentry and wife, Teresa of Etowah; Billy Gentry and wife, Teresa of Madisonville;

Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m., Saturday, in Biereley-Hale Chapel, with Rev. Tommy Self and Rev. Niles Dockery officiating. Interment will be 3 p.m. Sunday, in Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Saturday before the service. Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville, Madisonville, in charge of arrangements.
