Gregory Dickson Collette

Gregory Dickson Collette of Sweetwater, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 3.  Greg was a member of First Baptist Church of Sweetwater. He was a graduate of The University of Tennessee Knoxville and an avid follower of all UT sports. For the past 15 years, he  was a dedicated employee of Tellico Area Service Systems of Vonore. Greg was a devoted son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend who brought joy to all those around him. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling, playing golf and coaching sports.  Greg was known for his devotion to his family, his kindness to others, his keen sense of humor, his beautiful smile and his support of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Greg was tremendously loved and cherished by his family and friends and they are very grateful for the gift of his presence in their lives for 39 years.

He was 39.

Preceded in death by: his paternal grandparents, Howard and Marjorie Collette and maternal grandparents, Alvin and Betty Fox.

Survivors include: parents-Dick and Pidge Collette of Sweetwater;

Sister-Susie C. Price of Sweetwater;

Aunts and uncles-Annette and Doug Park of Winterville, Ga.; Jerry and Mary Collette of Marysville, Ohio; Bucky and Katrina Fox of Knoxville; and John and Jackie Fox of Sweetwater;

Cousins-Carol Wheeler, Lisa Sanchez, Douglas Park Jr., Travis Fox, Renee' Robinson, Lauren Fox, John Michael Fox, Daniel Horner and Callie Fox Reeder.

He also leaves an extended family and a multitude of friends, to cherish his memories.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Sweetwater.  In addition, a memorial scholarship fund for Sweetwater High School graduates will be established at a later date.  Contact Dr. John Fox for information.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Feb. 7, at Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, from 4-7 p.m.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., on Friday in Kyker's Chapel with Dr. Frank Crawford officiating.  Interment to follow in the Sweetwater Memorial Park. Kyker Funeral Home, Sweetwater, in charge of arrangements.
