Frank Orbin Moser

Frank Orbin Moser of Sweetwater passed away on Thursday, Jan. 17, at 5:45 p.m.  Frank grew up in Hiwassee Knobs in Madisonville, and passed away at his home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He served honorably with the United States Navy, fighting in World War II, until being honorably discharged in 1947.  He then worked for TVA retiring in 1987. Frank was a life-long member of the Local 74 Carpenters and Joiners Union in Chattanooga and a longtime member of the Sweetwater Church of God. He was an avid farmer, who loved working the land. 

He was 87.

Preceded in death by: his parents, Marshall and Cora Sledge Moser; son, Tommy Nelson Moser; great-grandchildren, Maura Dotson and Kadon Cain; brothers, Johnny Thurston, Don, Ronald and M.C. Moser; sisters, Eloise Williams, Gena Mae Davis and Iva Lee Arwood. 

Survivors include: his loving wife of 64 years-Lorena Atkins Moser, who loved and cared for him every minute of every day and who was by his side as he passed away;

Also survived by loving children and spouses-Ronnie and Genevia Moser, Johnny Moser, Marshal and Linda Moser, Frankie Ray and Natalie Moser, Elvia and Ronnie Gossett, all of Sweetwater; and Jeffery Orbin Moser of Oak Ridge;

Sister-Inez Davis of Sweetwater;

Fourteen grandchildren;

Twenty-two great-grandchildren;

Numerous nieces and nephews. 

A special thanks to Amedyis Hospice nurse, Melissa Latham and Teresa Wilson with Rescare Homecare of Loudon. Also a special thanks to caregiver Scotty Moser. 

The family received friends on Saturday, Jan. 19, at Sweetwater Memory Chapel.  Graveside service and interment was Sunday, Jan. 20 in the Sweetwater Memorial Park with Rev. Jodie Moser and Rev. Terry Campbell officiating, also full military honors were given at the graveside by members of the Sweetwater Gold Star Post 5156 and members of the Monroe County Disabled American Veterans Chapter # 93.  Sweetwater Memory Chapel in charge of arrangements.
