Reed Cleveland Summey

 Reed Cleveland Summey of Vonore, went to be with the Lord at 4:30 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 2 at Blount Memorial Hospital.  He was of the Baptist faith. 

He was 81.

Preceded in death by: son, George Pete Summey; father, Andrew Summey; mother, Mary Summey; six brothers; father-in-law, Marion Turner Abshire; mother-in-law, Annie Ray Abshire; brother-in-law, Marion Jacob Abshire; and sister-in-law, Mary Ray Abshire.

Survivors include: wife of 57 years-Virginia Summey;

Children and spouses-Bill Ray and Donna Summey of Vonore; Thelma and Linwood White of Madisonville; Allen Summey of Vonore; Marion Summey of Vonore; and Greg and Ellen Summey of Tellico Plains;

Grandchildren-William, Ashley, Eric, Brittany and Austin Summey;

Great-grandson-Brandon Lavine;

Sister-Betty Sue Holloway;

Sister-in-law-May Laura Thomas;

Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m., Tuesday, in Biereley-Hale Chapel, with Rev. Tommy Self and Rev. Chris Holloway officiating.  Interment will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, in Mt. Zion Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday before the service. Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville, in charge of arrangements.
