Johnnie Elizabeth Ledford

Johnnie Elizabeth Ledford of Madisonville, passed peacefully
into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday morning, Nov. 28, after a long battle
with cancer. She was a member of Tevis Springs Baptist Church. Born in Murphy,
N. C., she was a longtime resident of Madisonville. She spent the last 16 years of her working career in service
to others as a C.N.A. at Wood Presbyterian Home, a career she greatly loved.
She was 77.
Preceded in death by: her husband, Eugene Ledford; parents,
Fred and Tessie Garland; brother, Claude Garland; and special nephew, Freddie
Garland, who passed away Nov. 4.
Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law-Gail and Boyce
Watson;
Son-Michael Ledford, all of Madisonville;
Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
Sisters and brothers-in-law-Nellie and Pete Barber of
Deltona, Fla.; Billie
and Ronald Miller of Dalton Ga.;
Brother and sisters-in-law-Robert and Geraldine Garland of
Murphy, N.C.; Doris Garland of Cleveland.
Johnnie will be greatly missed by her family and many
friends.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, in Biereley-Hale Chapel with Rev. Chris
Holloway, Rev. Jim Swabe and a grandson, Boyce Anthony Watson officiating.
Interment will be in Hopewell Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony and Jason
Watson, Clifford Costner,
John Swabe, Pete Barber and Ronald Miller. Honorary
junior pallbearers will be
great-grandsons, Noah, Jonah and Julian Watson. Family will receive friends 6-8
p.m. Friday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
