Ray Allen Phillips

Ray Allen Phillips of Tellico Plains, was carried to the
arms of our Lord Jesus by angels on Sunday, Nov. 25, at his residence. He was
retired from L&N/CSX Railroad in Etowah, and loved to farm. He was a loving
husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He was a very active
member of Unicoi Baptist Church for many years and held offices of Sunday
School teacher, deacon and treasurer. He was a member of the Brown Hill Masonic
Lodge 613 and a board member of Chota in Tellico Plains.
He was 72.
Preceded in death by: his parents, Walter and Lena Phillips;
and brother-in-law, Otis Clapp.
Survivors include: wife of 51 years-Katherine Bradley
Phillips of Tellico Plains;
Daughters and sons-in-law-Sheila and Steve Boyd of Athens;
and Sharon and David Freels of Dayton;
Granddaughters and husband-April and Eddie Wilson of Tellico
Plains; and Samantha Boyd of Athens;
Sister-Sue Clapp of Knoxville;
Brothers and sister-in-law-Arlin and Ann Phillips of Tellico
Plains; and Lynn Phillips of Tellico Plains;
Several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov.
27, at Myers Funeral Home. Funeral service to follow at 8 p.m., with Rev.
Michael Prock officiating. Family and friends will assemble at Unicoi Cemetery,
Wednesday, Nov. 28 for the noon committal service. In lieu of flowers the
family requests memorials to be made to The Gideon International, P.O. Box 250,
Decatur, TN 37322. Arrangements by
