Ernest Stricklan

Ernest Stricklan (Ernie) of Madisonville, passed away at 9:10 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 18, at his home. He was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church, a member of local Union IBEW #700, a member of VFW Post #5156 and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.

He was 87.

Preceded in death by: parents, Duggan and Josephine McLemore Stricklan; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: wife-Martha Atkins Stricklan;

Daughters and sons-in-law-Nancy and J.L. Tilley, Brenda White, Donna and Roy (Slick) Leslie, Connie and J.R. Cagle and Barbie and Victor Bolt;

Sons and daughters-in-law-Sam and Rena Stricklan, Doug and Teresa Stricklan, Ricky Stricklan and Danny and Debbie Stricklan;

Many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren;

Sister-Bonnie Tilley;

Brothers and sisters-in-law-Reed and Barbara Stricklan, Reece Stricklan and Raymond and Virginia Stricklan;

Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m., Wednesday, in Biereley-Hale Chapel with Rev. Gary Duncan officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m., Friday in Watson Chapel Cemetery with military service provided by VFW Post #5156 and DAV #93. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, in Biereley-Hale Chapel. Arrangements by Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
