John Wood

John Wood (Tim) of Tellico Plains, passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, at Sweetwater Hospital. He is a member of Center Presbyterian Church. He was born and raised in Knoxville and was a retired Delta Airlines Captain and a veteran of U.S. Air Force serving two tours in the Vietnam War.

He was 73.

Preceded in death by: parents, John Wood Sr. and Lycebeth Goodlove Wood.

Survivors include: wife-Sandra Roberts Wood;

Daughter and son-in-law-Lyca Wood and Rob Loy of Hallam, Neb.;

Grandsons-Jordan and Brandon Loy;

Brother and sister-in-law-Charles Russ and Lucy Zemp of Kingsport;

Four nieces and one nephew.

Family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m., Saturday, with a memorial service to follow at Center Presbyterian Church with Revs. Jon Farone and John Rogers officiating. Arrangements by Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Tellico Plains.
