Vergie Marie Moses

Vergie Marie Moses of Benton, passed away Friday, Nov. 16,
as a resident of Signature Health Care. Born May 10, 1931 in Madisonville, to
the Rev. Johnny Jenkins and Emma Headrick Jenkins, the baby of 13 children, she
was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked off
and on as a seamstress for many years and raised her children after the loss of
her husband at a young age. She loved her Lord and sang and taught her
children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of that love. After 51 years
she will be with her husband, our father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Oh, what a reunion!
She was 81.
Preceded in death by: her husband, R. L. Moses; and
granddaughter, her first namesake, Breanna Marie Moses; parents, Johnny Jenkins
and Emma Headrick Jenkins.
Survivors include: son-Fred Moses of Gainesville, Ga.;
Daughters-Charlotte Garrett of Chattanooga; Shirley Bright
and (Ben) of Benton; and Beverly Link and (David) of Cleveland;
Twelve grandchildren-Freddie Moses, Clay Moses, Jon Moses,
Van Brannon, Tonia Black, Jonathan Brannon, Nikki Mason, Wes Bright, Jarai
Bright, Jill Childers, Corey Link and Lauren Link.
Graveside services were conducted at noon, Monday, Nov. 19,
at Sunset Cemetery in Madisonville, with the Rev. Gary Higgins officiating. A
white dove release ceremony concluded the service. The family received friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Sunday,
Nov. 18, at Higgins Funeral Home. Special thanks from the Moses family to
caregiver and friend, Mellodee Johnson and the nurses and staff at Signature
