Birtha Mae Harris of Englewood, passed away at 10:47 a.m.,
Thursday, Nov. 1, at her home.
Oldest and lifelong member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church.
She was 93.
Preceded in death by: husband, John Henry Harris; sons, John
Henry Harris Jr., David Edgar Harris, Herman Monroe Harris and Mural Avery
Harris; parents, James Harvey and Minnie Louisa Clark Baker; great-grandson,
Andrew Howard Land; sisters, Rossie Cole and Julie Baker; brothers, Wheeler,
J.D., Fred, Auther, Bill, Carl and Fate Baker.
Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law-Amos and Ulene
Harris, Kenneth and Redina Harris, all of Madisonville; Charles and Louise
Harris, Carl and Patty Harris, Ardell and Mary Harris, all of Etowah; and
Darrell and Shonna Harris of Englewood;
Daughters and sons-in-law-Margaret and Jerald Kilby of
Tellico Plains; Tammie and Richard McConkey of Mt. Vernon; Ruth and Carl
Lichlyter of Englewood; Bonnita Newman of Etowah; Jewel and Terry Wallace of
Trenton, Ga.; Alene and Rex Jones of Loganville, Ga.;
Thirty-six grandchildren;
Forty-eight great-grandchildren;
Nine great-great-grandchildren;
Sister-Lula Harris of Englewood
Many extended family members.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, in Biereley-Hale
Chapel, with Rev. Rick Atkins and Chaplain Mike Justice officiating. Interment will be in Eleazar
Cemetery. Family will receive
friends from 5-8 p.m., Saturday. Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville, in
charge of arrangements.
