Daisy Cox Thomas

Daisy Cox Thomas of Maryville, formerly of Tellico Plains, went to be with her Heavenly Father, Saturday, Oct. 6, at her home.

She was 79.

Preceded in death by: her parents, L.V. Cox and Adeline Simerly Cox; husband, Gordon A. Thomas; sisters, Nell Cutshaw, Alice Tilley and Floy Tidwell; brother, Sonny Cox Jr.

Mrs. Thomas was a registered nurse who retired in 1985 to devote the next 22 years to care for her suddenly disabled son, David Louis Thomas.

Survivors include: her children-Rebecca Jenkins and husband, Dane, Gordon "Andy" Thomas Jr. And wife, Sherrie, Carolyn Walker and husband, Fred;

Sisters-Mary Sue Tipton, Wanda Gibson and Patsy Hutson;

Sister-in-law-Martha Cox;

Grandchildren-Millie Thomas, Tyler and Andrea Thomas, Trey, Emily and Abigail Walker; and

Two great-grandchildren.

A special thanks to her caregivers, Ora Lee Russell, Helen Jenings and Ann McNabb for their dedicated service.

Family and friends metat Grandview Cemetery at 11 a.m., Monday for a graveside service with Rev. Freeman Tomlin officiating. McCammon-Ammons Funeral Home, Maryville, in charge of arrangements.
