Millie J. Edwards

Millie J. Edwards of Akron, Ohio, formerly of Tellico Plains, passed away at 10:50 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 23, at Rockynoll Nursing Home, Akron, Ohio, after a brief illness.  She attended Epperson Presbyterian Church and First Baptist Church of Tellico Plains. 

She was 96.

Preceded in death by: husband, Forrest Edwards; son, Isaac (E.L.) Peel; parents, Ike and Nettie Cantrell; brothers, Frank, Robert and Kee Cantrell; sisters, Addie McClain, Fannie Dockery, Mae Kelley and Margaret Hughes.

Survivors include: grandson-Edward Peel;

Daughter-in-law-Rosalie Peel, both of Akron, Ohio;

Nieces-Aline Wade, Teresa Hyde, Beulah Hilton, Bernice Weeks, Belva Cantrell and Diana Flynn;

Nephews-Wayne and Dale Hughes and James Cantrell.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m., Thursday, in Biereley-Hale Chapel, with Rev. C.M. Titlow officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m., Friday, in Coker Creek Cemetery (Pines).  Family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m., Thursday. Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Tellico Plains, in charge of arrangements.
